Welcome to the BMW Check Engine Light codes page. Below you will find the most complete list of BMW trouble codes available. The code definitions are a good starting point when determining the cause of the service engine light but where do you go from there? We have a large number of resources to help you repair the problem. Here is how we suggest you proceed. Look up your code definition. This tells you where to start testing. If you are unsure of any abbreviations, check out the acronym list by clicking on the link at the left. Next, read our article Automotive Circuit Testing, and if there is an article related to the system you are testing, such as Oxygen Sensors or EGR concerns, read these as well. They will provide valuable info! If there is a link to a specific diagnosis strategy for the code then follow that and start testing.

Hi, Using INPA I have been getting a few Errors can anyone let me know what/if needs doing/replacing. Ive hooked it up a couple of times and guess the DME/DDE relate to thermostat and IBS Sensor, I cant figure out the others. ZGM 932F 68DME/DDE 2E8E 64DME/DDE 2EF5 54DSC 5F56 E0KLIMA E714 62. They told me my thermostat and housing needed to be replaced. I am not real confident in them so I brought my car to a BMW certified garage. They told me that I had a fault code 2ef4, and that a technical service bulletin states that the radiator needs to be replaced and that the software needs to be upgraded. Hi we have a BMW 2008 n43 1.6 petrol with a fault code of 2FC1 will run rough and stall cant find any info on this code. Also codes 2AF4 2AF6 2AF2 with looks like it needs a new NOX sensor, if the last three codes only in system car runs OK. When it puts 2FC1 in runs rough stalls and no power. When starting this mornnig runs fine again with out doing anything. Also shows on the old OBDII as P0599 (BMW Thermostat Heater Control Circuit High) I'd guess replacing the thermostat will likely clear this up, but as the thermostat is only a year old, am concerned I may have something else going on. What other items to look at which could cause this fault?

If there is no procedure for your manufacturer specific code, then I suggest referring to a similar generic OBD II code (these are listed numerically by system type) to get a good idea of what to look for. If at this point you still need assistance use the 'Get Help' link and let us know how we can help. We can provide information on component location, specifications, circuit color/location and more. We do ask that you please read the info available on the site first so that we can help reduce repeat questions. So please read our Disclaimer and when you're ready jump in!
Also, we value your feedback and like to hear stories of unusual fixes or concerns you may have run into with your Check Engine Light, so feel free to share your experiences by using the 'Contact Us' link. Let's go!

We do our best to update these BMW check engine light codes as frequently as possible. If you find one missing let us know and we we'll add it immediately! Please use the form on our Contact Page to get in touch with us. We certainly understand how frustrating it can be to look for a code definition and have it not online when you need it. And lets face it, if the service engine light is on then you need it now! It's easiest to use the 'Find On This Page' feature of your browser's 'Edit' menu to find codes on this page as the list is quite long. These are listed in numerical order for easy searching.

When retrieving BMW check engine light codes with an OBD II scan tool, proceed as follows:
1. Connect scan tool to the 16-pin data link connector (DLC) located underneath the steering column. The connector may have a removable cover.
2. Turn the ignition on.
3. Follow scan tool manufacturer's operating instructions to access the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's).

Remember, these are manufacturer specific codes only. Refer to our Generic OBD II code list for definitions on all other BMW diagnostic trouble codes.

The only one who knows exactly the piece that corresponds to the Malfunction Code is the one that manufactures the Diagnosis Equipment

In the 'Autoxuga Information' above it was explained how the diagnostic systems of the cars work since the same code can refer to totally different faults and to NOT INCURRATE in similar errors we show you our solutions that show images and technical explanations about the breakdown which returns the control unit or ECU of the car and, for this it takes 2 elements: Adapter and Apps
BRANDS + OBD Autoxuga adapter
Many people think that Adapters are DIAGNOSIS tools or APPs and this is FALSE. The adapters are something similar to a BRIDGE that joins one bank of one river with the other and the Apps are the ones that perform the DIAGNOSIS

The internal electronics of the Autoxuga adapters because filtering Messages in the COMMUNICATION with the UCEs are MORE EXPENSIVE than the simple OBD adapters and Autoxuga ADAPTERS will work on ALL BRANDS and Models of cars

Professional Apps for 6 Brands
The Autoxuga Professional Apps show the Trouble Codes and the different components that cause them, detailing, in addition, the technical solutions with various operating schemes and the way of their verification to avoid problems in the car

Refx nexus v2 3.2 crack & elicenser. With these Apps and the technical solutions it contains you can make all kinds of repairs successfully as if you were an automotive technician, recommending that these Apps be used with our Adapter since it has a complex circuit whose microcontroller and memory filter the messages that return the ECUs or Control Units to Mobile Phone, operating in OBD in ALL BRANDS and Car Models from 2000 to date and in 85% of Diesel Engine, Gasoline, Airbag, Instrument panel, ABS, ESP, Automatic transmission2008 to 2018

STEPS TO REPAIR THE FAULT
First.-
* Connect the Autoxuga BRAND + OBD Adapter to the car's OBD diagnostic socket and search the smartphone for the App that corresponds to the car brand
* Make contact the car without starting it and erase the breakdowns that the ECU or Control Unit has stored with the <>6 Brands of Autoxuga that includes the brand of your car
* The CodeProfessional Apps of 6 Brands of Autoxuga will show OBD data in cars from 2000 onwards and data Diesel Engine, Petrol, Airbag, Instrument panel, ABS, ESP, Gearbox in vehicles manufactured from 2008 to 2018
* We advise you to erase all the faults that the car has in all the UCEs of Engine, ABS, ESP, Airbag, Panel, Gearbox, etc.
